Hiring a classic car: your questions answered

Can I hire a classic car for just one day?

Yes. Every vehicle can be hired by the day, and the daily rate comes down the longer you keep it. Each vehicle’s page has its full price table.

What do I need to bring?

Your current, full driving licence, plus two further forms of identification, one of which must be a utility bill or an official letter showing your current address. Drivers with a licence from outside the EU or EEA also need an International Driving Permit.

Is there a deposit, and what about insurance?

Standard cover carries a £1,000 excess, and we take a £1,000 security deposit when you collect the vehicle. It is refunded in full once we have checked the vehicle on its return. For £20 a day you can add our optional collision damage waiver, which removes both the deposit and the excess.

Can someone else drive?

Yes. As well as the main hirer, up to two other drivers can be insured on the vehicle, as long as they meet our insurance requirements.

Where do I collect and return the vehicle?

From our base at Unit 17, Joseph Wilson Industrial Estate, Whitstable, behind Tesco. Vehicles need to be returned during our opening hours.

Can you drive us instead?

For weddings, yes: our VW camper and Citroën 2CVs are available with a driver. See wedding car hire.
